“DOT Rwanda: My Pathway to Professional Success and Growth” Ishimwe Pascaline

Before joining DOT Rwanda, I found myself facing a daunting challenge in my quest for a professional job. The job market was competitive, and most employers required something I lacked: experience. I was stuck in a frustrating cycle where I needed experience to get a job, but I couldn’t gain experience without getting a job. This is where DOT Rwanda stepped in, changing the trajectory of my career and providing me with a platform to shine.

A Beacon of Opportunity

DOT Rwanda didn’t just offer me a job; it opened a door to a world of possibilities. As I embarked on my journey as a Digital Champion and Business Coach under the Daring To Shift Project funded by Global Affairs Canada, I quickly realized that this was more than just a job; it was an opportunity to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact.

A Classroom Like No Other

During my time at DOT Rwanda, I was fortunate to wear multiple hats, each contributing to my personal and professional development. As a Digital Champion, I had the privilege of helping others harness the power of technology for positive change. Teaching digital skills to communities and empowering them to leverage technology for their benefit was incredibly rewarding. It wasn’t just about imparting knowledge; it was about making a tangible difference in people’s lives.

As a Business Coach, I had the opportunity to guide aspiring entrepreneurs and small business owners on their journey to success. The satisfaction of seeing their businesses flourish and witnessing their dreams come true was immeasurable. DOT Rwanda didn’t just teach me about business; it taught me about the power of mentorship and the value of nurturing others’ growth.

Stepping into New Horizons

DOT Rwanda was more than just a workplace; it was a community that encouraged exploration and innovation. It opened doors to various opportunities, from representing the organization in meetings to attending events that broadened my horizons. These experiences enriched my knowledge and provided me with a unique perspective on the ever-evolving landscape of technology and entrepreneurship.

A Mentor and Guide

If I were to describe DOT Rwanda in one word, it would be “mentor.” This organization not only equipped me with the skills and knowledge I needed but also guided me through the journey of personal and professional growth. In Kinyarwanda, I would say: “DOT ni UMUBYEYI,” which translates to “DOT is like a parent.” This perfectly encapsulates the role DOT Rwanda played in my life—a guiding presence that nurtured my potential and helped me navigate the path to success.

A Grateful Journey

As I reflect on my time at DOT Rwanda, I am filled with gratitude. It was here that I found my purpose, honed my skills, and discovered the joy of helping others succeed. The experience and knowledge I gained during my tenure have become invaluable assets that I carry with me into every new opportunity that comes my way.

In conclusion, DOT Rwanda was not just a job; it was a transformative experience. It empowered me to overcome the barriers I once faced and set me on a trajectory toward a fulfilling career. I am eternally grateful for my time at DOT Rwanda and will forever cherish the role it played in shaping my professional journey. It is an organization that not only changes lives but also nurtures dreams and fosters growth.
