DOT Rwanda Country Director Violette looks on as interns showcase their projects
Social Entrepreneurship is a new concept in Rwanda. It focuses on applying practical and innovative approaches to solving community problems. Social enterprise also allows the entrepreneur to make a profit. DOT Rwanda is working towards empowering communities through youth entrepreneurs.
Interns were coached on developing innovative businesses that solve a community problem. The training activities included developing social enterprises from inspiration, ideation to implementation phases. Individuals came up with ideas, worked in groups and received feedback from DOT Staff. Interns were confident to pass on their new skills to youth in their community at the end of the training. Country Director Violette Uwamutara addressed Interns who completed the training.
“I have gone through the projects you developed during this development training. We appreciate how you are working tirelessly to solve challenges with social innovation. We encourage you to increase and multiply your community impact.”
